Hello my lovelies! Today I’m sharing a simple + ultra delicious cinnamon roll recipe that I created which is good for you. I’m not even kidding, this is a cinnamon roll recipe made with ingredients that sub for the typical ones-giving you a much healthier version of the classic cinnamon roll. If you’re like me and absolutely lovvve cinnamon rolls, you’ll want to try this recipe. (;

Ingredients:
For crust:
- 1 cup whole wheat flour
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 cup coconut oil (in solid form, refrigate if needed)
- 1/3 cup lukewarm water
For filling:
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 1 teaspoons coconut oil, melted
Preheat oven to 425 degrees. In a medium sized bowl, blend the flour and salt together. Once combined, add 1/3 cup of coconut oil & cut into pea sized pieces with a fork, then add water. (If the dough is too sticky, sprinkle additional flour on the dough and blend.)
Lightly dust a flat surface with flour, then knead dough on the surface about 10-15 times. (If you do not know how to knead: simply take the dough in both hands, and push the back/palm of your hand into the dough gently, turn over, and repeat.) After kneading, roll out dough until it reaches a 1/4 inch thickness.
For the filling, combine melted coconut oil, honey, and cinnamon together, then drizzle over the rolled out dough and spread to the edges with a spoon.
Next, roll up dough in a spiral, then cut into individual rolls of about 1/2 inch width. Lay on a baking sheet so the rolls are sitting spiraled side up, then put in the oven and bake for 15-17 minutes, or until golden brown.

These cinnamon rolls take less than ten minutes to typically make (not including baking time), and since the recipe uses alternative ingredients (coconut oil instead of butter, whole wheat flour in place of white, honey for sugar), the rolls are much healthier but are just as delicious. I hope you guys enjoy making these. 🙂
XOXO,
Veronica
I am going to try this! It sounds very low in sugar since honey and cinnamon are actually good for diabetics. 🙂
